Each Housing building has a designated parking area where authorized vehicles are free to come and go
on a first come first serve basis. In order to park in these areas, you MUST have a parking pass which
can be obtained from the Parking Office. Parking is extremely limited, contact the Parking office at
956-8899 or visit their website for more details at http://www.hawaii.edu/parking.
The Parking Office has designated stalls in the Student Housing parking areas as 15-minute
loading/unloading zones. The use of these stalls is monitored closely and vehicles are only allowed
to park in these stalls to load and unload for 15 minutes. Citations will be issued if the
vehicle is parked longer than 15 minutes. If these stalls are filled, the driver must wait until one
of these stalls open. No one will be allowed use of any of the other marked stalls or to
park in a no parking area to load or unload. Vehicles parked longer than 15 minutes in these stalls,
parked at red curbs, parked in marked stalls without the proper permit or parked illegally even with
the hazard lights on, will be cited and/or towed. These zones will be monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days
a week.
There are a variety of off campus areas within walking distance of Student Housing where vehicles
may be parked. Please note that these stalls are not monitored by Campus Security, the Parking
Office, or Student Housing. Observe all parking laws and regulations when parking off campus.
Thefts have been known to occur in certain off-campus areas near Student Housing. Please secure your
vehicle and remove all valuables when parking in public areas. Student Housing will accept no
responsibility for any damages or theft of vehicles parked off-campus.
Parking is located throughout the campus and residence hall system. The following parking and traffic regulations must be obeyed by all motorcycle, moped, and bicycle operators. Violators are subject to the penalties and fines as established in the UHM Parking Regulations.
All vehicles are subject to the rules and regulations as established by the UHM Parking Office.
Any vehicles (including, but not limited to cars, trucks, vans, mopeds, motorcycles, and bicycles) parked in unauthorized areas may be removed at the owner's expense. This also includes the removal of any locks from bicycles, mopeds, and motorcycles, etc.
